Short film - "Grandma Ahn"
Temporal montage
Using my camera and post-production tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition), I constructed a series of linear sequences to create an object-driven video narrative. The object I chose to film is my great-grandmother's keepsake, the bible. The challenge was to communicate the meaning of "absence" and "presence" through a 1-minute long short film.

Spatial montage
Using footage filmed in "Temporal Montage", I assembled a spatial montage consisting of moving multiple split-screens. Inspired by film photography, I added the edge of a film strip, film grain, and light exposure effect.
Storyboard
The story I aimed to convey revolves around the concepts of absence and presence. Though Grandma Ahn is no longer with us in this world, the faded and worn pages of the Bible served as a poignant reminder of her past, when she would read the book repeatedly.
